Senior Care and Healthcare Technology Veteran Niels Coch Hired as Head of Nobi USA
Company Continues to Assemble U.S. Team with Deep Industry Expertise to Market AI-Powered Smart Lamp
AUSTIN, Texas – May 1, 2023 – Nobi, a provider of innovative AgeTech solutions, today announced the hiring of Niels Coch, a senior care and healthcare-technology expert, to head Nobi USA operations.
In this role, Coch will lead Nobi’s operations in the United States, focusing on rolling out long-term organizational strategies and driving business development opportunities for the company’s flagship device—an AI-powered, aesthetically designed smart lamp that is transforming elder care by both preventing and detecting falls which are the most significant cause of fatal injuries in older adults. The Nobi lamp will be marketed to all levels within the continuing care environment, nursing homes, hospitals and, eventually, directly to consumers.
“We welcome Niels to the Nobi family, along with his wealth of expertise in technology-focused healthcare business development, sales management, and operational planning,” said Roeland Pelgrims, co-founder and CEO at Nobi. “We’re especially excited about adding even more depth to our executive experience in the AgeTech industry. His impressive background combined with a shared passion to improve the lives of older adults will contribute to Nobi’s vision for healthcare in the future.”
Belgian-born, Coch has lived in the United States for the last 12 years. He has been involved in healthcare technology for 17 years in various parts of the world, with a major emphasis on senior care during the last seven years. He previously worked for IndigoCare and ResponseCare (RCare) Inc., helping these nurse-call solution providers grow their market shares.
“I’m beyond excited to join the Nobi team, not only do they bring groundbreaking technology to the table but it is also being done by an incredible global team of people with a shared passion and mission to improve the living and working experiences at our care communities,” said Coch. “For the past four years, I’ve helped with the continued growth of the AgeTech market, which only increased my passion to provide better living experiences for residents in senior care communities and a better work environment for all of the people who care for them on a day-to-day basis. I cannot wait to help bring the Nobi smart lamp to the U.S. healthcare and senior care markets.”
Coch joins the Nobi U.S. team along with recently-announced AgeTech expert, Sarah Thomas.
Nobi will be participating at this week’s spring Senior Living Innovation Forum, in Austin, Texas.
